Welcome to Seven Riddles. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Seven Riddles ("we," "us," or "our") governing your use of sevenriddles.com and our services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a binding agreement to use the Service. Organizers and team leaders sign in using their phone number and a one-time code; team members join a team using a code and a display name. You are responsible for activity that happens through your access, and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Minors may participate only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian.
2. The game — assumption of risk and safety
Seven Riddles games take place in the real world. You participate at your own risk. You agree to:
- Obey all laws and follow all traffic, property, and safety rules at all times.
- Not trespass, speed, or put yourself or others in danger to complete a task.
- Be responsible for your own safety and the safety of your team, including any minors.
Release of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and agree to hold harmless Seven Riddles, the website owner, and the organizer of any game you join from any claims, injuries, losses, or damages arising out of or related to your participation, travel, or use of the Service.
3. Text messages
By providing your phone number you consent to receive text messages from us, including one-time sign-in codes and game-related alerts. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your number.
4. Your content
You are responsible for the photos, answers, names, and other content you submit. By submitting content, you represent that you have the right to do so, and you grant Seven Riddles the right to use, display, and store it as part of the Service. As stated in our Privacy Policy, content uploaded to the Service becomes the property of Seven Riddles. Photos may be shown publicly in a game's results gallery. Do not submit content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, or that depicts people who have not agreed to appear.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Cheat, falsify your location, or interfere with other teams or the fairness of a game.
- Damage, move, or fail to reset clues, tasks, or property at game locations.
- Harass, threaten, or harm other players, organizers, or the public.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
6. Organizers
If you create or run a game, you are responsible for its content, the safety and legality of the locations and tasks you choose, communicating rules to your teams, and complying with all applicable laws. You agree to hold Seven Riddles and the website owner harmless for the games you run.
7. Intellectual property
The Seven Riddles name, logo, and the Service are owned by us and protected by law. You may not copy or use them without permission, except as needed to use the Service normally.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that location, mapping, or scoring will be perfectly accurate.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seven Riddles and the website owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the Service or participation in a game.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Seven Riddles, the website owner, and game organizers from any claims or expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or end your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in Pennsylvania.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
